Mekong Plus is a social enterprise creating sustainable employment for under-privileged women in 800 villages in Vietnam and Cambodia. It is specialized in high quality, hand crafted quilts and accessories.

All profits from customers purchases benefit to women but also to wider community with development initiatives such as micro-financing, scholarships, and health, hygiene and agricultural education programs. The goal of Mekong Plus is community development, with a focus on the people with the people themselves.

History & Philosophy

In 1994, Gilberte Do-Huu and Robert Eberhart created the French association VietNam Plus. Following the extension in Cambodia, Vietnam Plus changed its name into Mekong Plus in 2007. Previously, Mekong Plus focused its work on quilts with its brand Mekong Quilts. In 2010, following on from the success of Mekong Quilts, Mekong Creations was established to diversify the product range, which included handcrafted accessories and gift items. Today Mekong Quilts and Mekong Creations have joined together to create a unified identity under the name Mekong Plus.

The social enterprise now employs over 340 women in communities northeast of Ho Chi Minh City, Duc Linh and Tanh Linh, Ham Thuan Nam (Binh Thuan Province), Long My (Hau Giang  province) in the Mekong Delta and Rumdoul (Svay Rieng province) in Cambodia.
